To go with this months Featured Hotel, the Whats Your Las Vegas Featured Attraction is The Volcano Eruption at The Mirage Hotel.
Now, when I first heard that you could go and watch a volcano erupt at a hotel in Las Vegas, I didn't quite believe it! But sure enough, situated outside the main entrance of the Mirage Hotel, there stood a volcano. I waited with the gathering crowds, and when the bird sounds started quietly in the background, I had no idea what to expect. Then "BOOM!" This burst of water and flames came out of this volcano - the heat was intense! Opening in 1989, the volcano is one of the most popular attractions in Las Vegas. In 2008, they re-designed the original volcano, and added the addition of flame shooters in the lake around it. The fireballs from the actual volcano, can shoot up to 12 feet in to the Vegas sky! It is the only free attraction in Las Vegas which combines fire, with both music and choreography For those of you staying at The Mirage, try and get a room on the 14th floor or above, on The Strip side of the hotel - and you will be able to see the volcano from above. I have never done this, but will be on my list of things to do!
Operating Times The Volcano goes off nightly, every hour on the hour from 6.00PM until 11.00PM It is located on The Strip at the front of The Mirage Hotel
